Finger weaving and customisation of vintage objects

29 July, 1 August, 5 August, 12 August, 19 August
I perpetuate finger weaving. This craft has only survived in our commune of Savièse. It was used to make colourful straps and belts traditionally worn by men. Such a belt for a man requires between 120 and 140 hours of work. This weaving technique is the oldest known. It is also found in some Eastern European countries (Romania, Baltic States), in Finland, Quebec and South America. I also customise old objects, mainly from Valais.
